July is in the heart of summer, and we face some hot days.
The solution isn't just to stay inside home and live with air conditioning.
Of course, we want to enjoy our life, go on holidays, meet our friends, and some of us have to work too!
This is part of our summer life, and we need to find the best ways to deal with it.
Here is some helpful information to help you.
Stay in shady areas and avoid direct sunlight, especially during the midday hours. Stay in parks with plenty of trees or near the ocean where the temperature is cooler.
Drink plenty of fluids, such as water, to help replace fluid loss due to sweating. Avoid drinking coffee and especially alcohol, as they can cause dehydration.
Prefer lightweight, comfortable clothing in light colors. It is better to wear clothes made from natural materials such as cotton and linen.
Limit or avoid heavy physical work and strenuous exercise during times of high temperatures and humidity.
Avoid using the oven and stove to prevent raising the temperature inside the house. Eat light foods, such as plenty of vegetables and fruits, which you can use to make delicious salads.
Close the windows during the hottest part of the day and ventilate well in the evening or early morning. Use fans or air conditioning if available.
Cool showers can quickly lower your body temperature. You can also wet towels to cool your head and exposed parts of your body, and of course, if you're at the beach, swimming in the sea is a must. Always use sunscreen.
This is a very helpful habit, especially in Mediterranean countries. A short nap (power nap) can help refresh and reduce fatigue caused by the heat.
If you experience symptoms like dizziness, nausea, or vomiting, move to a cool area, drink water, and if the condition doesn't improve, seek medical help.
We also don't forget to take care of our beloved pets. Always keep bowls of water nearby for them to drink. Since dogs do not sweat, it is advisable to wet their paws with a damp towel. We don't take them out for a lunch walk, as the streets are hot and their feet can get burned.
We also remember to place bowls of water in different shady areas to help any stray animals.
